In this talk, East Grinstead based author and historian Dr Kathryn Ferry will discuss the impact of the Arts and Crafts Movement on the town and surrounding area. Discussing architecture, the decorative arts and gardens, she will place the nationally important house at Standen in its local context featuring other houses, the Old Convent and the development of Dormans Park. Kathryn is an experienced lecturer, broadcaster and author of many books including, most recently, the history of the Old Convent.
